Paraplanner - Financial Planning & Tax Coordination

 

Position Summary

We are seeking a Individual who wants to eventually become a Finacial Advisor. Our Paraplanner position is the first role within our advisor track (Paraplanner > Associate Advisor > Financial Advisor). For this specific hire we are looking for a career switcher from tax and accounting to add depth to our financial planning and tax planning offerings. We seek an individual with either an EA or CPA designation. This individual will support the advisor team in delivering financial advice to existing clients. In addition, this individual will coordinate our tax prep offering with our out-sourced CPA partner firm who prepares the returns.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Paraplanner Duties

- Assist Advisors with client communication, agendas, recaps, and recommendations. - Prepare Advisors for meetings with financial analysis and updated client financial plans.

- Manage the financial planning process: data gathering, input into financial planning software, running scenarios, and preparing client-ready plans. - Document client meetings, review notes with advisors, and update CRM systems. - Draft client summary letters consolidating advisor recommendations. - Maintain client files and data in CRM and portfolio management systems. - Provide white-glove service to clients, proactively addressing needs and requests.

- Mentor and train interns who are interested in joining a wealth management firm.

- Contribute to and attend quarterly best practices advisory meetings where our advisors share their experience and knowledge with other advisors on the team.

Tax-Focused Duties

- Supervise client tax document collection and track completion. - Communicate directly with clients about required tax items and deadlines. - Review documents before submission and ensure they are complete and properly organized.

- Serve as a liaison between clients and our partner CPA firm, ensuring clarity and resolving issues.

Qualifications & Skills

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

- EA Designation, or CPA license strongly preferred.

- 2–5 years of experience in tax preparation or accounting.

- Strong understanding of tax forms, filing requirements, and common client issues.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to speak confidently with clients and CPA partner firm.

- High attention to detail and ability to manage complex workflows.

- Professionalism, integrity, and a client-first attitude.
